"you've been paid for!"

This summer I, Matt, have been meeting with a young man who is honestly seeking a relationship with Jesus.  He recently shared the following account with me.

“It was 8pm and I was super anxious. I went to be alone and pray on my balcony. While praying I asked the Holy Spirit to guide my prayers. (Some of the anxious feeling is a strong sense of guilt and shame.) I asked God for comfort and relief and wasn’t getting anything. So that made my guilt much stronger. 

I then asked “What am I supposed to do?”

Instantly I heard a voice that was so loud it made it the only thing I could hear. (I live downtown and it’s 8pm so cars, drunks, club music are all at full volume) God said “YOU’VE BEEN PAID FOR!” It knocked my head back and pulled my chest out. I could feel a connection that resembled a rope being pulled from my chest toward the sky. It felt like I could grab it and climb it. The voice was bright and gold in my ears which makes no sense but that what it was.

Now the following morning I’m still waking up early and anxious. But there is a new strength in me that makes me walk with courage rather than fear. I still have a long road of prayer and reaching out but I’m so grateful to see that on the other end he is waiting for me.”

Prayer and Praise

Matt is going to teach 4 drawing classes in the jail where Betsy serves as chaplain. Pray for him as it will be a first for him.

Please pray for Betsy’s ministry in the jail for spiritual discernment and wisdom on how to be used effectively.
